CHYAO TRUST FUND (ITALIAN TRUST FUND FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH IN AFRICA) STRIVES TO SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT POLICIES THAT DEFEND AND PROMOTE THE RIGHTS OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH, FIRST AND FOREMOST ENSURING THAT CHILDREN ARE NOT USED IN ARMED CONFLICTS.
CHYAO AIMS AT REDUCING THE VULNERABILITY OF CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS AND PROMOTES SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT THROUGH ACTION IN THE FIELD OF NUTRITION, HEALTH, EDUCATION, AND SOCIAL INCLUSION – WITH PARTICULAR FOCUS ON DISABLED AND PROFESSIONAL TRAINING, PROVIDING SKILLS TRAINING FACILITIES,ENGAGING YOUNG PEOPLE IN INCOME GENERATING ACTIVITIES AND ENHANCING THE CAPACITY OF MASTER ARTISANS WHOSE SERVICES WILL BE REQUIRED IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT.
THE PROJECT WILL AIM AT PROVIDING SKILLS TRAINING FACILITIES/OPPORTUNITIES WITH A VIEW TO MAKING THEM PRODUCTIVE AND SELF RELIANT. THESE YOUTHS WILL BE PROVIDED TRAINING IN SKILL AREAS SUCH AS CARPENTRY, MASONRY, METAL WORKS, TAILORING, CANE FURNITURE FABRICATION, CATERING, CLOTH WEAVING, BATIK MAKING AND GARI MAKING.
